Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued invitations to apply (ITAs) in the latest Express Entry draw.
In this round, the department invited 5,000 candidates exclusively from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
To be eligible, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 510.
Today’s draw marks the ninth Express Entry event of a particularly active month. So far in July, IRCC has issued a total of 25,125 invitations to apply (ITAs).
This month has seen a mix of program-specific draws, such as those for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), along with category-based selection draws.
In the category-based draws, a significant number of ITAs were awarded to candidates with French language proficiency, totaling 5,000 over two draws. Additionally, 3,750 ITAs were issued to healthcare candidates on July 5, and 1,800 were given to trade occupation candidates on July 4.
Program-specific draws have also been notable. As of July 31, IRCC has issued 11,300 ITAs to Canadian Experience Class candidates and 3,275 to PNP candidates. Candidates in these categories are often already residing and working in Canada as temporary residents. The return to program-specific draws on May 30, following a year without them, aligns with IRCC’s goal of increasing domestic draws.
In March, the department set a new objective to manage and stabilize the number of temporary residents in Canada while achieving its permanent resident targets as outlined in the Immigration Levels Plan.
