Canada Issues 511 ITAs in Latest PNP-Focused Express Entry Draw

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited 511 candidates to apply for permanent residence in the most recent Express Entry draw, held on May 12, 2025. This draw targeted candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), requiring a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 706. To be eligible, candidates needed to have submitted their Express Entry profiles before 10:35 p.m. UTC on March 4, 2025.

This marks the third Express Entry draw in May and continues a strong trend of PNP-focused selections. In total, IRCC has issued 33,940 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) so far in 2025.

Express Entry Trends in 2025:
The majority of draws this year have been aimed at PNP candidates, with others focusing on French-language proficiency, the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and targeted categories such as education and healthcare.

Breakdown of Draw Types So Far in 2025:

  • PNP: 8 draws
  • French-language proficiency: 3 draws
  • CEC: 3 draws
  • Education: 1 draw
  • Healthcare and social services: 1 draw
