Manitoba Invites 62 Skilled Workers in Overseas Stream Draw
On May 15, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held a draw focused on candidates living outside Canada with strong ties to the province. A total of 62 candidates received Letters of Advice to Apply through the Skilled Workers Overseas stream. Among them, eight candidates had a valid Express Entry profile and job validation code. The lowest-ranked score in the draw was 626.
Only candidates invited directly by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative were considered.
Eligibility for the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream
This stream is open to foreign nationals who can prove a solid connection to Manitoba through:
- Support from family or friends living in the province
- Past education or work experience in Manitoba
- An official invitation under a strategic recruitment initiative
To qualify, applicants must also score at least 60 out of 100 on Manitoba’s points grid, which evaluates age, education, language skills, work experience, and adaptability. Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) – Parisa Erfani
What Are Strategic Recruitment Initiatives?
Strategic recruitment initiatives help Manitoba employers hire skilled international talent to fill labour shortages. Employers must:
- Meet eligibility requirements for their job openings
- Follow the province’s ABC Recruitment process
Qualified candidates must receive a permanent or long-term job offer and show clear intent to settle in Manitoba, especially outside the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region. Importantly, candidates cannot apply for these initiatives directly—they must be identified by the MPNP.
