British Columbia and Manitoba extend invitations to PNP candidates.

British Columbia and Manitoba have issued invitations to candidates through their respective Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).

Note: Each PNP uses its own unique scoring system to assess candidates' eligibility for immigration. These scores are not comparable across different programs.

British Columbia

On November 20, 2024, the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) conducted a category-based draw for candidates under the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams, including the Express Entry BC (EEBC) option.

A total of 16 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued, with cut-off scores varying by targeted industries and professions:

Category

Minimum Score

Number of Invitations

102

Candidates may apply to the BC PNP directly through the base program or link their application to their Express Entry profile via the EEBC option.

The EEBC stream offers faster processing times for both the BC PNP application and, if nominated, the permanent residence application, providing an efficient pathway for eligible applicants.

Manitoba

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held three draws on November 8, 2024, inviting a total of 274 candidates:

  1. Skilled Workers in Manitoba – Occupation-Specific Selection:

    • Targeted occupation: National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 unit group 60030 – Restaurant and Food Service Managers.

    • Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs): 41

    • Minimum score: 672

  2. International Education Stream:

    • LAAs issued: 188

  3. Skilled Worker Overseas Stream – Strategic Recruitment Initiative:

    • LAAs issued: 45

    • Minimum score: 703

About PNP Programs

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) are economic immigration pathways designed to address regional labor market needs by selecting individuals based on their skills and experience.

Launched in 1998, PNPs aim to distribute the benefits of immigration more evenly across Canada. These programs allow provinces and territories to nominate candidates interested in settling in specific regions.

Today, there are over 90 PNP streams, offering diverse opportunities tailored to meet the unique economic needs of provinces and the skills of foreign nationals.
